From Kiwi Print Studio comes a wonderfully bright and cheerful collection of eight animals depicted as colourful silhouettes from Dena O'Brien's converted barn print studio located in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The designs draw influence from some local - and not so local - farm life, all rendered on a beautiful cream backdrop. Dena creates playful, timeless pieces with a sense of individualism and creativity.
There are a range of animal designs available for personalised mugs, ranging from our webbed friends with duck mugs to four-legged bearers of antlers with reindeer mugs. There are also a selection of cow mugs, pig mugs, chicken mugs, geese mugs, sheep mugs, and horse mugs.
Kiwi Print Studio is a spacious and professional printmaking workshop offering photo stencil screen printing alongside a range of relief and intaglio processes founded by Dena O’Brien in 2012. Dena has amassed a wealth of printmaking experience, including over 12 years in art education and a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Arts. It was at the RCA that Dena found her passion for screen printing and all things print based.
All designs are hand printed in house – either at the Kiwi Print Studio or here at McLaggan Smith Mugs – where ink colours are extensively mixed by hand and developed into a unique colour palette. The passion of Dena combined with her skill and talent at finding the perfect colour palette have turned Kiwi into a bright and vibrant workshop.
As well as producing high quality prints and products from other artistic processes, Kiwi Print Studio also welcome any aspiring printmakers, artists, designers, and even other experienced printmakers. Their printing workshop has been designed around allowing all levels of experience to participate and are held at the Kiwi Print Studio, as well as in schools and businesses. They also have a presence at relevant events across Cornwall and the UK.
Each Kiwi print maintains a sense of the Kiwi style while standing alone on its own merits. While it is often difficult to make an ergonomic item a work of art, Dena O’Brien manages this with aplomb.
