Frequently asked questions

I’ve broken my favourite and can’t see it online. Can I replace it?

We know people get attached to their mugs. If you’re trying to track down an old design, send us a photo and we’ll take a look. We may still have an original decal tucked away in what we affectionately call our "oops drawer", and if not, we’ll do our best to point you towards the closest match.
What are your mugs made from?

All our mugs are bone china. It’s strong but lightweight, comfortable to hold, and keeps drinks warmer for longer.
Are they microwave safe?

Yes, perfect for reheating your tea or coffee. The only exception is designs with real gold decoration, which will always be noted on the product page and shouldn’t go in the microwave.
Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes. They’re safe for the dishwasher, but we recommend hand washing to keep the print looking its best for years to come. Frequent dishwashing can gradually soften colours, especially in hard water areas or with strong detergents.
How are the designs printed?

Each design is screen printed onto specialist transfer paper, applied to the mug by hand, then kiln fired to fuse the decoration into the glaze. It’s a traditional method that gives crisp detail and lasting colour.
What size is the mug?

We make a few different sizes and shapes, so it’s always best to check the product page. Our most common capacities are 300ml and 350ml, with some designs available in 250ml or 400ml in our standard shape. We also offer alternative shapes including Tall, Huggable and Topaz. You’ll find full dimensions in our size guide so you can choose the one that suits your tea habits best.
