How it works

  • Use the "Personalise" button on the mug page and choose "Your handwriting on a mug;"
  • Write or draw your message on a blank white sheet of paper using black ink only. A thick Sharpie works best, or you can also use a black felt-tip or ballpoint pen;
  • Scan your artwork for best results, or photograph your drawing in good light;
  • Upload your artwork when ordering, or email to personalisation@msmugs.com with your order number;
  • We’ll do the rest, including converting your handwriting into clean, printable artwork.

Top tips

  • Keep your lines bold and details clear;
  • No colours or shading, black only;
  • If photographing, make sure to keep your sheet flat, in focus and in good light;
  • Don't worry about sizing, as we'll scale your artwork to fit the rim or inside base.

Delivery

As our ceramics are decorated to order and fired in our kilns overnight, please allow 2-3 working days for your order to be despatched, plus additional time for delivery.

Orders containing only non-ceramic items are usually dispatched more quickly. If your order includes both ceramics and non-ceramic items, everything will be shipped together once your ceramics are ready.

UK Delivery

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout before payment, so you’ll always see the full cost before completing your order.

Delivery is free on orders over £40. For orders under £40, delivery is calculated based on weight.

Highlands & Islands, EU and Rest of World

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on order size, weight and destination. You’ll always see the final cost before payment.

Frequently asked questions

I’ve broken my favourite and can’t see it online. Can I replace it?

We know people get attached to their mugs. If you’re trying to track down an old design, send us a photo and we’ll take a look. We may still have an original decal tucked away in what we affectionately call our "oops drawer", and if not, we’ll do our best to point you towards the closest match.
What are your mugs made from?

All our mugs are bone china. It’s strong but lightweight, comfortable to hold, and keeps drinks warmer for longer.
Are they microwave safe?

Yes, perfect for reheating your tea or coffee. The only exception is designs with real gold decoration, which will always be noted on the product page and shouldn’t go in the microwave.
Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes. They’re safe for the dishwasher, but we recommend hand washing to keep the print looking its best for years to come. Frequent dishwashing can gradually soften colours, especially in hard water areas or with strong detergents.
How are the designs printed?

Each design is screen printed onto specialist transfer paper, applied to the mug by hand, then kiln fired to fuse the decoration into the glaze. It’s a traditional method that gives crisp detail and lasting colour.
What size is the mug?

We make a few different sizes and shapes, so it’s always best to check the product page. Our most common capacities are 300ml and 350ml, with some designs available in 250ml or 400ml in our standard shape. We also offer alternative shapes including Tall, Huggable and Topaz. You’ll find full dimensions in our size guide so you can choose the one that suits your tea habits best.
